Fill this form to have the opportunity to join the New Generations platform: submissions will be reviewed on a daily-basis, and the most innovative practices will have the chance to be part of the media's coverage and participate in our cultural agenda, including events, research projects, workshops, exhibitions and publications.
New Generations is a European platform that investigates the changes in the architectural profession ever since the economic crisis of 2008. We analyse the most innovative emerging practices at the European level, providing a new space for the exchange of knowledge and confrontation, theory, and production.
Since 2013, we have involved more than 300 practices from more than 20 European countries in our cultural agenda, such as festivals, exhibitions, open calls, video-interviews, workshops, and experimental formats. We aim to offer a unique space where emerging architects could meet, exchange ideas, get inspired, and collaborate.

The 2021 Call for Publications focused on editorial projects by emerging architects and publishers. The ongoing three-year edition of the New Generations festival aims to explore the relation between the urban environment and six intertwined themes, two every year. This year’s themes are: ‘(City and) Technology’ and ‘(City and) Image'.
Last month, through our Open Call for Publications, we received some of the most innovative editorial projects carried out by emerging architecture and publishing practices from over 25 countries across the world.
We received over 110 entries in the form of magazines, zines, digital publications, papers, essays, theses on the two topics we proposed this year, including 76 proposals for (City and) Image and 39 proposals for (City and) Technology.
After a long selection process, we have identified the following publications to be featured at the festival events that will take place on June 30th, July 1st and July 2nd*. Others have been shortlisted for the Reading Room travelling exhibition in the Royal Spanish Academy in Rome. Those selected for the exhibition have already been notified via email, and will be published on our online media platform and social media over the coming months.
*Please note that due to the COVID-19 pandemic-related restrictions across Europe, the logistic aspects of this year’s New Generations Festival are subject to change. Follow this space as well as our social media for regular updates.
