Fill this form to have the opportunity to join the New Generations platform: submissions will be reviewed on a daily-basis, and the most innovative practices will have the chance to be part of the media's coverage and participate in our cultural agenda, including events, research projects, workshops, exhibitions and publications.
New Generations is a European platform that investigates the changes in the architectural profession ever since the economic crisis of 2008. We analyse the most innovative emerging practices at the European level, providing a new space for the exchange of knowledge and confrontation, theory, and production.
Since 2013, we have involved more than 300 practices from more than 20 European countries in our cultural agenda, such as festivals, exhibitions, open calls, video-interviews, workshops, and experimental formats. We aim to offer a unique space where emerging architects could meet, exchange ideas, get inspired, and collaborate.

The intervention consists of the restoration of an attic in Turin, Italy, intended to be converted into a bed and breakfast unit.
This project comes as a consequence of the research process that Blaarchitettura was conducting. Day after day, they try to reach the highest level of architectural quality with the minimum use of elements and objects.
“We are fascinated by authentic architecture and in our everyday life, our aim is to follow that guideline. We have the goal to reach natural results with the limited use of budget and expensive materials”
The project provides an opportunity to create an environment that accommodates future tenants, and at the same time, generates a moment of relaxation and peace.
The project is simply based on the cleaning up of the existing and the introduction of a small volume for the services (restroom). Everything else was defined by what the architects had found.
The building structure in reinforced concrete becomes the central element. A big window amplifies the spaces and allows a 360-degree view of the whole house.
That acts as a spatial subdivision between the sleeping area and the living room.
A light-green volume hides the bathroom and a technical volume. Thanks to the wide velux and the two new dormer windows, the environment is enriched with a light that it was previously lacking.
Colors and materials are neutral, and besides the concrete, we used natural wood and white plaster.
Two metal beams are inserted in place of the previous beams of reinforced concrete to increase the floor height and allow an easier passage. Distribution pipes of the heating further characterise the intervention as they freely move within the volume of the house.
The new structure is declared in red, and the thermal tube (that is also red) is used commonly with all the neighbours.
